Counselling
Choosing counselling is a hugely positive move.
Over the years, many people have asked me, what is counselling?
Counselling can be for anyone who feels they have something they want to talk through, the loss of a loved one, marriage difficulties, financial problems, relationship challenges. But counselling more importantly is simply offering some help in how we choose to deal with our challenges.
Counselling is a place where you will be deeply heard. This is a very different experience to being with friends where a conversation may go something like this:
“I just haven’t been feeling happy recently.”
“Oh yes, me too. Shall we do lunch?”
That might be helpful, yes. Lunch and sharing stuff with a friend definitely helps but they’re not listening to you in a way that a counsellor has been trained to.
The time shared with my client is all about them and a place of non judgment. “You are allowed to feel like that,” has been a light bulb moment for many clients. Allowing those “bad” feelings to be heard and eventually released allows us to move on with greater confidence and peace….and better feelings.

Problems are always going to be a part of our lives but with help and encouragement from a counsellor, your problems often become easier to work through.

Walk and Talk Therapy
Walk and Talk Therapy
My practice is on the farm where I live in Llangrannog, a beautiful part of West Wales. Our fields run down to the cliffs offering spectacular views of Cardigan Bay. For some, sharing our confidences in closed indoor surroundings can prove challenging, so instead I can offer an outside setting to talk.
This doesn’t necessarily need to be a long walk. We could take a stroll through the garden down to my roundhouse and sit in the fresh air and peaceful surroundings.
Being out in the fresh air can be an easier place for memories and possible issues to be aired.
If my work resonates with you, please feel free to telephone or email me. I offer an initial 15 minutes free of charge to help you decide whether I am the right counsellor for you and how we can best work together.
